You need to check out another member's blog who did this trip just recently. Go to www.alaskapade.com and read all about it. Great trip, great pic's, and he is a good writer to boot. (Sorry if I pirated the thread...)

I road my Road King above the circle last year on the 4th of July. My wife road her Night Train there as well(16" front wheel). Not too many women have done that. Been riding for over 35 years and it was one of the most challenging rides I've ever done. We got caught in a rain storm coming back down from Coldfoot. Took us 8 hours to go 140 miles....If you time it right and don't get rained on it's not that difficult on a big bike but when it is wet, it's a different story.... I wouldn't even consider riding a big bike the whole way to deadhorse and back. Especially if you care about it.
