Good Deal?

The second time it was on my nickel.
These types of failure point to cost savings in design, engineering, and manufacturing. It is a problem throughout the lubricated parts in these engines.
Even if the problems occur only in bikes after two years and 20,000 miles it's still unacceptable to have these same problems occur model year after model year ----> I point to lifter failures here.
Again, I truly love my 2012 CVO SG and will keep fixing what breaks, but there are no more new Harleys in my future.

I had a 2012 SG regular and yes they gave me 15K trade with a difference of 21500 owed on the 17 CVO SG. The trade on mine was way more than fair but it had a fresh 107, extended bags, different fenders, big stereo, chrome legs, calipers, wheels etc.... and a ton of mods. It showed well. Profile pic is the rear of it.

Wow!!! They must have really wanted the trade. That's a great offer for your bike from a dealer and then for you to pay $36,500 otd with extras, means he sold you his bike for nearly cost. What model and what dealer? That's a crazy good deal for you!!! Congrats.

If I am reading correct the dealer cost on a SG CVO is somewhere around 31-32. He sold my bike the next day for $16500 so they made money both ways. No extras other than a discount on the first round of parts. And the funny thing is the trade was sight unseen. I had a quote from another dealer for that amount. I agree it was a bit high for the year model but it really had a lot of extras.

Yeah that's a deal. Tax was probably 2k. I'm sure your bike was really nice but dealers usually don't gamble on selling a tricked out bike. Usually you'll get a little over trade value and they won't come off retail.

On my 09, they warrantied the compensator the first time but only after it got so bad that I was embarrassed to start it in front of Gold Wing owners.

I think they had a buyer for it already. Beats me, though. It did take 2 weeks and about 100 messages back and forth between me and the 2 sales managers. The deal started at 27 and my bike. I am still confident they made decent money on both ends. Tax was about $1200

?
The dealers asking damn near full price for a 2017. If it were me I would go with a 2018 with the " New 117 " motor or ask them to do better on price because of the " Old 114 " motor.
If your paying full price and financing why buy the old model when you can get the new one with a newer stepped up motor.
