I'd be shocked if they let you put the s and s in since it will still be under warranty but if they do that's a good thing. The inner cam bearings were a weak link in earlier bikes not sure if they're any better in your year, but that's a little deeper than they'll be going...plus you're still under warranty so don't sweat them till you're out of warranty, then it's a good excuse to put in some cams lol

Just took my 15 CVO RG to the shop with 26K with noise like the lifters were going. they found metal in the transmission oil and found the main transmission bearing in the primary side bad. When I had the 25K service done and all was good.

With all of the complaints about lifter failure in the 110 engines, and even though I have the ESP on my bike, I took it a couple of months ago (with 33,000 miles on the odometer) and paid for a new set of lifters. The tech told me that the new OEM lifters could handle the increased valve spring pressure of the 110 engine and that they would be covered under my ESP in the event that should fail.
May have been a waste of my money, but I'd prefer that than to wait until the engine totally failed and had to be rebuilt, possibly during a road trip.

what year is your bike? the 'new' oem lifters came out in 2013, so if your bike is newer than that, you already had them. not that a pm replacement is a bad thing to do, but with esp, is it necessary? i've got 40,000 on mine right now. if they go, hello, new engine.

New OEM lifters that came out in 2013 still fail, just like the previous ones. Good friends 2014 CVO Limited had his lifers fail out in Oregon with 21600 miles on the bike. Took up two days of our vacation to wait for repairs. Then another friends 2015 CVO road glide ultra had lifter failure at 36,000 miles, 15 months old, HD replaced the engine. Then at 23 months and 26 days, I had lifter failure on my 2015 CVO Road Glide Ultra had lifter failure at 44,000 miles. Screwed my vacation, happened the day I left the house, 400 miles into my week trip. HD replaced the engine.
