Default Shovelhead oil

I'm in Asheville NC, and using 60 weight oil. Seems okay, wondering if it's too thick though... What are you all currently using?

I use 60 or 70 wt. They were made for the heavy grade oil.

Up until a few months ago I lived in Gaffney (just on the other side of Spartanburg) and I always went to 50 weight from October until early summer.

She's getting harder and harder to warm up... Might switch to 50 weight this weekend.

ULTIMA 60/70 WT the ULTIMA has more zinc than other oils -- I use an additive also that we use at Textron a military place that builds the M1117 ASV they use it in the ASV -- im not about to name the stuff because I don't need to listen to the childish replies - I pretty much use it in everything - I added it to my a/c compressor and it dropped the trmp from 47 to 43 - this was 5 summers ago --

when I add it to my fuel you can feel it in about 20 to 30 miles -- hey works for me - and it works for others I have given it to .. im more than sure they wouldn't lie just to not **** me off - geezzee 1 person bought a gallon of it -- dang $175

Next oil change (soon)...I'm watering it down and dropping from 60 to 50.
This weekend...with morning temps in the garage in the low 40's..she was a struggle. Not always wanting to pull the plugs and spin her for a while til the cylinder walls warm up enough.

Starting to get a few evenings of frost around my parts...so garage can get cold.

In colder climates, 50w in winter and 60w in summer. In warmer climates 60w all year with an oil cooler in the summer.

If the motor in your scooter is original, 60wt is fine. A friend who lives in central Pa has several original shovels and all he runs is 60wt all yr round. He says even tho HD 60wt cost more then other brands, they were born and raised on HD 60wt, so why play Russian roulette with the blood line of your motor.
