Working on my front end and found the tubes are scored at the bottom. No bushing with stainless on aluminum I’m not surprised and you can see the newer design 41mm tube attempted to address this problem. Looked into my options to have my current lowers honed larger to accommodate the newer tubes with lower bushing but hit a dead end there. So I’m going with FL tubes and pretending I didn’t see the scuff on the inside of my lowers. Can’t see how the scoring effects function but just like the cheesy callipers I’ll accept the shortcomings and keep going.

Not knowing about this fix I considered getting two more upper bushings to insert down there but you still need to bore the lowers to get them down in place. With my lowered front end Ill be using a different section of unused bore in the lowers anyway and new tubes, new upper bushings.

Bought some reproduction lights which I think are a faithful copy based on the originals Ive seen. For $89 a pair vs $300 to $500 a pair for originals that could be put to better use on a bike they belong to, I ended up with the repops.

My first thought is to mount them on the swing arm but the body work gives me other options too. I could maybe even tuck them further in so they are only seen from behind.....Ill think about it.

New rear shocks and new fork tubes will be here this week. Got my new O-ring chain too.

I agree!

But once the body is on Ill entertain having them tucked in behind the side panels between the tire and bodywork. Might look goofy but I wont know until I put them there.

Shorter fork tubes arrived, now I can determine a spring length to get the ride height set and have suspension travel.

Offset transmission plate I had to make is ready to go on and I have the primary spacer (bought that) to go between the engine and inner primary case.

Haven't had much time to devote to the bike lately but I managed to get the shorter tubes and springs in, rotors on and rear shocks. I need to continue on the body now. Had to move it out of my shop today so I took some pics.
