Ok my Iornhead is down, top end, but my guru has a 84 fxr which is nice but he has a 74 superglide bone stock to the paint both for about 7,500 each....... if it was you?//

 

I`d go for the 74 SG and with the extra repair the sporty ! Imo ...

 

TY, the sporty is being done, and actually he wants a litle more for the Superglide than he doesforthe FXR. I was just wondering bout the mechanics, although I guess the shovel is not so hard, but the evo I dont know anything about. Although I heard they are good. thanks Dusty

 

FXR's are sooooo much fun! lot's of cool parts. light and fast! and rubber mount too! go for the FXR!

 

screw that RubberGlide! Real Shovelheads interchange with an incredable lot all the way back to the ULH's. And as for those damn Bo-evols!
Really, the thought of a truly stock 74/74 makes most of us drool, and not prettily either.
Be wise, do not pass up on what is a rare opprotunity to get spiritual with metal, buy the 74.

Yeah, you are right, I just got a little excited about the FXR, I've been looking for so long for the right one, and now they are getting rare too. You don't find a good shovel around very often, prob. you should try to buy both, or turn me on to the EVO.

 

I guess I'm spoiled, where I live its easy to find old shovels and Ironheads, ya have to look a little for pans and flats. Not only do we have the motors but we have a hell ofan indy shop that works on only Harleys. From flatheads to to 2007. His father had a museum and there are many of old parts and pieces just laying around. A friend just called me and wanted to know if I was interested in a 72 sporty bone stock was runnin when it was put up in 1991 said could get for around 2500. Sez he has a 74 there also but it was buried under a bunch of stuff in his barn lol well thats the way it is around here. Pell City, Alabama near the Talladega race track and Barber Motorsports Park. We also have 3 motporcross tracks within 45 min of my house Alabama the Beautiful Thanks Dusty

 

Well I guess y'all work fast, lol went to get the 74 and she was sold over the phone yesterday. Hope whoever got will enjoy it. I'll just go over to the barn and get another, probably whole lot cheaper two thanks Dusty
