howdy y'all, heres an FXDG that was posted on the internet a couple of days ago, i always enjoy finding examples of these Bikes . . .

not bad looking, looks like the dash is painted Black (hard to tell ) exhaust & Brake Rotors are not OEM , the Rotors are increasingly hard to find especially the rear one . . . the last one i got for 225$ + Ship & import tax !

Hi every one hope your weekend is going well,
heir's a little bit of trivia from Easyriders & Iron Horse, all from 1983 . . . this bike was probably featured more often in the magazines from 1983 more than what Harley-Davidson ever had to offer on this limited edition machine . . .

the March 1983 Iron Horse Mag where the FXDG was featured . . .

this Bike was/is truly one of the most detailed Wide Glides ever produced by the MOCO. . .

this article even featured a hand written message from the "G" man himself ! . . .

The April 1983 Easyriders that announced the FXDG Bike giveaway . . .

the 2 page give away add from Easyriders . . .

the 1983 October Easyriders mag that announced the give away winner . . .

the give away winner Howard Carswell from Brookland was the lucky winner ! they also featured photos from Lidlaws H-D in San Gabriel crating up the FXDG for shipment . . .

Is the thin primary belt a liability on a bike that would see a lot of use not to mention being inside a closed primary?

I've used 1 1/2 belt kits for years, including a 1959 &1965 Pans & my 1983 Shovel & never had any problems with heat issues on any of these bikes . . . you just have to make absolutely sure the motor pulley & clutch basket are aligned the best they can be !
