Default HELP! Fork Caps Keep Leaking

The fork caps on my '75 FL keep puking drops of oil on me when I ride. Since it is a '75 it has the caps with the little breather vents on the side of them. I discovered in the Drag Specialties catalog today that their replacement part has some fine print stating (will not work with headlight tin covering) I havethe old style tin coverand I guess this must be the problem. My guess is that the tin cover keeps the cap from sealing all the way down. Custom Chrome makes some caps but theirs say nothing about compatibility with the cowling.

Does any one know why this is and any parts or solutions to fix the problem. I'm sick of all my shirts and jackets getting little oil splatters and having to constantly clean up my fork tubes and tank.
