Default carb advice

I'm still looking at possibly upgrading my old super b with the Super bowl.

I was searching and found this carb I know nothing about. I was wondering if anyone had any comments on the Ultima.

Hi, if your looking at a serious upgrade & the Best carb out there for performance,Ease of fitting, no needles or jets to play with you gotta look at getting a Lectron.
they are amazing carbs, easy start with a true choke system, very short giving better leg room, light, Made in The USA & used by racers all over the world,
got a 70's model a few years ago & it was fantastic so I bought the new 3rd generation & am blown away with it, the best carb I have ever fitted to a Harley,
check em out here,..... Lectron Fuel Systems | Motorcycle Carburetors, Parts, and Kits

& this is my 78 shovel with the new Lectron,....

that R2 is a super E knock-off - you can find Super E knock-offs as low as 55 bucks - some folks like them - others avoid them like the plague and believe they are TRASH.

If I were upgrading my old Super B I would go to a CV40 - lots and lots of Harley ran and still run CV40's - or find a super bowl for B - nothing wrong with that old B

The Lectron is nice, but god awful expensive. And seriously, all that plumbing for a chug along Shovel?

I really like the super B with the Super bowl. My only problem is just recently the adjustable enrichener I bought decades ago is sticking. I just rebuilt the carb and ordered a new adjustable enrichener. They are cheap enough, though a bit hard to find. .

This is more like trying to find an excuse to upgrade. If I do pull the trigger on this, believe I'll just go for an S and S Super E.

Or, have another beer and think about it until the urge passes.

Pretty much all (commonly used) carburetors that will work on a HD are simple to work on...

they have a 'Metering Rod' thats specially ground on one face & IF you need to adjust it you simply wind in up or down on a 4 or 8 click per turn adjuster, but I have never had to alter it, they come tuned & sort of fine tune themselves,...
