Wow, that's nice for the price! I have seen some early bread box dashes in all chrome. I have gotten myself in enough pipe dream projects (like a chrome headlight bucket for my FXRS but all the connectors to split and take apart and reconnect would drive me to drink!).

I had an 85 EVO FLHT years ago. I have an 89 now. I bought the CCI or Drag specialties chrome front to replace the grey plastic. I bought a seat that looks like yours but grey fabric on top. The mount is different at the nose so I think it's for the squared off tank like you have vs my rounded one. I thought it would be cooler if the bike was sitting in the sun!. I'd like a pre 83 FLH but my wallet and ability are too small!

^^ Are you saying an FLHT?? or a 4-speed is what you wanting!! 4-speeds (FLH) went to 1984 regular production.. Pre 1983 T's are Not FLH anything...FLT til '83, which offered an FLHT...first One...Only Shovel FLHT

Thanks. I really like the FLT. I think a rubber mounted shovel with a 5 speed is as modern as it's going to get and still have the classic motorbike experience. I know most people hate it, but I really like the big, stupid dash that looks like they yanked it right out of an old Datsun. I like the ramp-like line it makes with the big, stupid tank too. It's the only one that's different really. Everything before and after kinda looks the same to me. I consider it classic in it's own right.
The bike came with some spare parts, one of which was an extra silver, plastic headlight shell. I crinkle painted it black to see how it looks. I took the pics after I bought it and did a couple things to it so I could shake it down to see what it needs. Now it's spread all over my garage and workbenches in pieces. Lol

I would try to get maybe 2-3 grand for it as is and not spend the money to get it running. You just end up putting more money into it that you have to get back out. After 10 years it seems you are ready to move on and not let it get any more deteriorated sitting. You might even call one of those local estate liquidators to sell it for you at an auction. Sold quick and fast with no reserve and minimal fee.

More than I thought actually.

That one and the "if someone's really wants to steal it they're going to steal it" when you're talking about ways to lock up and protect your motorcycle is always popular.
well looking at all the different responses, that's exactly what its ''potential'' value is ....what someone is willing to pay for it
