Default Speedometer drive for rear wheel??

I replaced my four speed trans with a 5 speed. the 5 speed doesn't have a mechanical odometer drive so I'll have to use a snail. The problem is that on the 71 FLH there is a chrome bowl on the front tire and I don't want to mess that up so I'm wondering anyone knows if I can use a snail from the rear tire. Or if you have a solution that might work. Thanks advance.

If you're running the stock drum brake up front forget the CCI part Back to the drawing board !

Default rear speedo drive

V-Twin sells a rear wheel drive kit #VT 36-0615 for the left side of '86-'95 softails. Maybe could be adapted.

Somewhere I've seen a kit for this complete with snail and extra long cable just for what you want . Do a google search bud , but the guys above said you'll probably have to change over to the later speedo .

In drags book they sell a magnetic trigger for a speedo but you will need to convert the speedo to the triggers signal
