The oil tank holds 4 quarts, your choice of weight. I have used 20-50 Harley oil since the day I brought my '81 home from the dealership. I prefer the drop-in PERFORM oil filters as they do away with the metal cartridge in the tank. Trans holds pint and a half of fluid, I use Bel Ray Gear Saver 85w-140. Screw out the allen in the side of trans and when fluid runs out it is full.
Bike should be up-right when doing this.

Default wheres the fork drains

another question, there are no drain screws in the bottom of the fork tubes. or maybe do i have to take the front wheel off and they are
under the botton of the tube. my 06 has them on the backside of the tubes. so i figure these must be directly on the bottom. is this correct
thanks again
