Value of 1970 Shovel electraglide with "ASM" Title
What kind of value could be put on a 1970 Electraglide that looks almost new, but has an assembled title? It was done in 1985 and looks very good but no HD title. Maybe it's only because of an engine switch, I don't know. The seller wants $8000 and that would seem reasonable or cheap for one with a good title, but what does this title do to the value???

The problem is you can't tell if a VIN number has been shaved off somewhere and restamped, but a good auto theft investigator can. You get stopped on itwith an assembled title by a cop with some autotheft knowledge and something doesn't look right it will be on the back of a wrecker. You'll be paying an attorney big money to have him try to get your scoot back. There were a lot of Shovels stolen back in the day and there are still a lot of them floating around with bad numbers... I'd stay clear of that bike...
