If anyone is looking for a good tent, I have had two of the Big Agnes brand backpacking tents and they are awesome. From -10 camping trips to 100 degree trips, it's been a great quality tent with a quick setup and tear down. Only weighs a couple of pounds as well.

I use an REI passage one man tent and I'm going to try REI camp tarp for extra coverage.

I personally have the four person version and love the extra room.

Tried the 3 person once... Don't know how they figured three would have fit in that.

I'm 6' and crest 250lbs. Do not like cramped feeling.

Default Hilleberg

Just thought I'd add to the conversation. I've had my Hilleberg for 11+ years - great tent. Double-walled, no rain fly, super light, compact and you don't have to seal the seams. I've been through many torrential downpours, and am always dry and warm. I have the three person since we use it for hiking and camping.

Have fun.

I spent a week in Alaska in a 2-man tent and learned that if you can go bigger without a lot more weight then go that option. Having the room for gear and keeping it out of the rain is a huge plus. REI also has some great 4-man tents that I'd be looking at if I was in the market. 3-man at the minimum though!

North Face 3 Season tent, a Thermorest self inflating air mattress and a good sleeping bag. I have used North Face products for 30 years. Life time warranties and keep you warm and dry.
