The dealer flash will only activate the fader

With the HK amp in the system, the fader will default to the amp.

Hope this helps
Thank you IronCrossAudio. That clear everything up for me. One question: if I connect the CVO amp outputs (with CAN bus + and -) to front and rear, and flash the radio, will the fader work? Reason I ask is if I remember correctly, the CVO amp only take signal from the radio's front speaker wires, and not both front and rear.

It's only been in the last 2-3 years or so that HD has used ONLY the front HK outputs to the CVO amp. For example, in '06 and '07 HD sent BOTH the front and rear signals from the HK to the amp.

Good luck with your project.

Yes, the fader will work, but only at the amp. The head unit will still default to front outputs only.

Default Adding CB to 2014 TriGlide

Mine came with the PTT button and CB antena. If I do a self install the instruction say....

A speaker software flash must be performed on the radio
installed on the motorcycle at the dealer before the speakers
will function

Since the speakers already function why do I need to pay the dealer to do the flash?

You asked a good question but you asked it on the third page of an old thread about something different. People will read from page one and reply to the old question. You may get an answer here but start a new thread if you dont.

A FLHX (Street Glide) would not have rear speakers unless maybe a CVO.

Here is the 2011 wiring diagram ... maybe it will help.
