Default How did you position your Yaffe's?

I put 12" Yaffe's on my Ultra and love them, but wondering if I put them too far forward. They're almost all the way forward and I have no problem reaching them, but sometimes slow cornering can be a bit of a stretch. Obviously, it's a personal preference, but just wondering how forward you have yours?

It's easy for me. I always ride with a backrest. So I just adjust them to where I'm comfortable and lock them down. My position doesn't change.

Loosen up the head clamp - sit on the bike, extend arms to bars to find the most comfortable position, lock down the bolts and ride - adjust as needed
Comfort over fashion in my book

I have mine all the way forward the closer to the fairing - the better, that way they look like they belong there flowing seamlessly with fairing. Mine have about 1" between the bars and the fairing.

Here is how my 14" yaffe bars are positioned.

Two things I've considered on mine:
  1. Reach when cruising at highway speed with cruise control and rested back for long haul riding.
  2. Low speed, seems to me that the 'most' stable steering geometry would be with the angle of the upper portion of the bar inline with the lower fork tubes.

I started with mine as close to the inner fairing as I could possibly clear but I'll be bringing them back gradually to find the sweet spot.

Another thing I've run into is that when changing from a two up long haul seat with the tour-pak vs. the lo-pro single seat changes the reach quite a bit as well.

I had mine all the way up to the fairing at first as well. Defeated the reason I put them on for in the first place, comfort!

Ended up pulling mine back 3-4 inches so I didn't have to reach for them, everyone that's sat on my bike comments how comfortable they feel.

I have my 12" just far enough forward that the bars don't contact the tank when making a full turn right or left. It is comfortable and doesn't cause issues in slow speed maneuvering. YMMV
