Default 2015 slim seat compatibility

I picked up a slim today an the stock seat was painful just on the short ride home! I was looking on ebay for a decent deal an I don't know what's compatible. I know the frame changed around 07....I'd prefer a seat that can carry a passenger. I saw some fatboy take offs but I was wondering if they were too wide. Any info appreciated.

Just about any current model softail seat can be made to fit... The difference between some of them is a single bolt hole or a pair. I am not smart enough on the different models to know which ones have two holes. But, I know that a Slim has a single.

Lotta guys go with Mustang or Le Perra, others prefer the stock Deluxe seat (that requires drilling that center hole) others like the Tractor style seat with the spring (which is probably the way I'll go if I decide to replace the stock seat).

You can add a bike to your Ebay account, and it will tell you, generally, if a part is compatible or not.

I just bought a mustang wide touring seat for my slim and wow what a difference. It was certainly not cheap but imo well worth it.

thanks for the info ej....I just like the low narrow looking seats....guess I don't value comfort that much!

I got a seat from Drag Specialties. Looks good and feels better than the stocker.

The stock seat on a Slim looks cool but it is like sitting on a brick covered by a towel. The selections are limited because as one member stated, the Slim has a single bolt attachment rather than 2 and the location is different. I just bought my 2nd FLSS and went with the Mustang Wide Tripper Diamond. the wider seats are the most comfortable but when I put one on my other FLSS it looked out of place on that slim bike. The wide tripper is slightly wider than the oem one but the quality of foam is MUCH better and supportive.

I also went with a Drag Specialties seat for my slim and put a few thousand miles on it so far and while its not the most comfortable thing I've ever sat on it's hands down better than the stocker.

Love my Mustang seat with backrest made a world of difference for me and the wider passenger seat is loved by my wife also! Very comfortable!

That big seat is fine on a Heritage but when you put a real wide seat on a "Slim" it just looks weird.

I have a LaPerra Barebones on my Slim. Bought it used off of here (no gel) and put on almost 700 km straight, with only fuel stops, and was good. I was having a bit of hip pain, not sure if its because maybe it changed my seating a little, or it was my first long ride of the year and I was adjusting, or it was my chaps and or cold (only 4 degrees Celsius when I left)

I would lean to the the chaps/cold. once it warmed up and I took them off, felt better.

Anyway very happy with the seat, and sure beats the hell out of the stock block. I had looked into having the stock reworked at one point, but there was an extra 75 on top of the cost because of the way its built.
