I joined the club today
I went into the dealer today looking to get some highway pegs for my 2012 Ultra. Well, as the story goes I rode away on a new 2017 Ultra. They had some great incentives to make room for the 18's.
I'm absolutely loving it. The handling is blowing me away. All I can say is smoooooth. Takes the bumps so much better than my 12. I hate using the old cliche "it corners like it's on rails", but it does. I lean into the sweepers and it stays on the line like it's glued to the road. The clutch takes a little getting used to, but I think I have the hang of it after an afternoon of riding. It doesn't take long to put on 100 miles when you enjoying the ride so much.
I was able to swap a few add ons from the old bike but most had to stay because they won't fit on the new one. Giving up the old one was like saying goodbye to an old friend because it was such a good bike and with allot of memorable miles.
So here's a picture of it parked in my garage.
Glad you got one and agree that they are like night and day to previous designs. Regarding the clutch I have read complaints before of being hard to pull. Did not think so at all but it is different. Just locks up so much better than previous years and the added power makes it feel like it pulls out aggressively. Have only ridden mine less than 3 hours so far and spun the rear wheel yesterday just pulling out into traffic.
Suspension is awesome and does handle like a bike that someone had to put a lot of money in to with aftermarket parts. Harley finally made a good touring bike that I am almost completely happy with off the floor. Barring the exhaust that makes it sound like a sewing machine I love it. Have a stage one going on as soon as the exhaust is delivered. Guess then I will be able to think about what's next.
Enjoy that sweet bike!!!!
