Congrats! I also joined the club today. I picked up a 17 Ultra Classic in red. I love how it handles compared to my 16 Limited. The clutch did take some time to get used to. I'm loving the upgrade so far.
Just a quick update. Closing in on the first 1000 miles. Going for a ride in the cold temps. Below 32 degrees F first thing this morning. Frost on everything.
Time for the long underwear, heated vest and all the gear. I'll be using the heated grips today for sure. It got colder here earlier than normal this year after a long hot dry summer. At least the forest fires are settling down now.
Absolutely loving this bike. I will cry when I have to put it away for the winter.
I went into the dealer today looking to get some highway pegs for my 2012 Ultra. Well, as the story goes I rode away on a new 2017 Ultra. They had some great incentives to make room for the 18's.
I'm absolutely loving it. The handling is blowing me away. All I can say is smoooooth. Takes the bumps so much better than my 12. I hate using the old cliche "it corners like it's on rails", but it does. I lean into the sweepers and it stays on the line like it's glued to the road. The clutch takes a little getting used to, but I think I have the hang of it after an afternoon of riding. It doesn't take long to put on 100 miles when you enjoying the ride so much.
I was able to swap a few add ons from the old bike but most had to stay because they won't fit on the new one. Giving up the old one was like saying goodbye to an old friend because it was such a good bike and with allot of memorable miles.
