Picked up the first vivid black 2018 Road Glide Special in my area last week and first thing I noticed was a full chrome kickstand, it's pretty much the only chromed out part on the bike and looks totally out of place. My dealer assured me that is how they come. There wasn't any others to compare to so no idea if that was a dealer mistake or an oversight by Moco.
The kickstand takes a beating. Chrome finish is the logical choice for durability. Paint will scratch and wear off. Stick with the chrome. It's there for a reason.
It's ok it will snow soon over there. No worries. Why are you fussing over something silly like a kickstand? Did you expect some type of refund or something? If you are that picky you dont you go back and complain about all the other chrome bits on there like the bolts, shifter shaft, and etc....
BTW good luck with all the paint swirls after you wash your bike for the first time.

I dunno if it's such a silly question. Guys that want a blacked out bike don't want chrome, could be kickstands only come in chrome because of wear.
I do agree, a black kickstand would get scratched but it might look better.
An easy fix would be to take your KS to a local powder coater this winter and have it shot. Or, you can easily do it at home with a do it yourself powder coat kit and your oven.
Some of the pictures on HD site make it look black, but when looking at the virtual bike deal and swivel the bike it's a chrome kickstand unfortunately. This is the USA HD site though.
