Default Tranny vent completely clogged by dirt, should I open the tranny to check ?

So, like many guys I had some fluid migrating from the transmission and making its way to the clutch adjustment cable. Traced it to the nipple of the vent tube being COMPLETELY clogged by dirt. Like solid dirt from both ends.

I cleaned it all up (picture after the clean up), but should I be concerned about what made it into the tranny? Should I open that S*cker and have a look? It looks like just dirt.... I just bought the bike, 2008 street bob with 6000 km on it so not sure what the history is, but the fluid is super clear.

Any concerns there ?

Thanks

JP

I would clean the fitting and hose, reassemble, change the lube and go...

I borescoped it. Doesn't seem to be migrating, looks like some grit just under the nipple. And perhaps a little bit of rust around that hole part. Not sure what Im looking at though, the diagram in the service manual is not very detailed
