i just purchased this 2002 XL 883C and it only has 7300 miles! i got it for $1900, figure it's a good winter project and seeing how I work as a tech in a Harley Shop I have plenty of room/parts and an extra lift! let the mods begin.

I have all the tins off the bike and new shocks on. The tires are original from 2002 so I'm hoping the wheel bearings aren't shot. I'm going to have to replace the clutch cable and front brake line.
The handlebars were spray painted black and it looked horrible so I polished the metal and really liked the outcome. I'm going to internally wire the bars at some point but it works for now. Put some stock mirrors on too. I'm going to replace the triple trees because they are spray painted and throw a nice fresh set of steering head bearings in.
I have the exhaust off. Came with Vance and Hines straight shots. They don't have baffles though not that they're really loud but I may want to order some. The headers have quite a bit of rust on them that I'll have to bead blast.

Installing new steering head bearings on the triple trees

Cleaned the spray paint off the forks, next I need to strip and re spray the lowers.
