Default Dual disc 49mm caliper options

I'm in the process of piecing together a dual disc conversion for a 2009fxd using a 14 fxdl rh slider and have a few questions regarding caliper options

does anybody else other than qtmi make brackets for 65mm twin pin brembos? 06 -up dynas?(already talked to Howard as well) I ordered a set and while the left side fit the rh slider is slightly different and doesn't line up Lowrider rh slider appears to be made slightly different than my stock 09 lh slider as there's more metal on the tabs

Comparison of both sliders

the only reason I tried going with this setup is because a member here that goes by the name of buellrider did this same swap and apparently had no issues (08 dyna, used fxdl rh lower as well ) unfortunately that guy has not been on here in a year checking on his profile.

second question is this setup fails to fall thru I'll be going with a speed merchant tokico bracketdual disc setup. But from I've seen they only have brackets for 11.5 or 13in rotors . Would I be able to use 11.5 rotors on an 06 -up dyna that uses 11.8 rotors? Does the bracket compensate for this ?

3rd question anybody that's dealt with ordering Spengler custom lines am I able to order lines with two different size banjo bolt fittings for one line ? (Brake calipers and master use different size banjo fittings) id like to run a dual banjo bolt from the master (brembo rcs19) and eliminate the need for a crossover.

p.s talked to Tara she has no clue l

The 11.5" SM radial adapters will work with 11.8" rotors. They include extra washers to use as spacers in the kit to make up the small difference. I use Big Al's Cycles brake lines and they use a double banjo bolt at the master, way cheaper option than doing a crossover or a block. Your lowers should be virtually identical because of the same axle and rotor size but with the SM adapters you can play with the spacing to get everything centered up pretty easily.

Who did you order from? Got mine for my FXDF through QTMI (Tara) and it bolted right up.

Damn that looks good.
yup I ordered from Tara she said she has no idea why the bracket won't fit it has to be the slight design change in the fxdl right hand slider(14). The left side bolted right in but that's my original slider that came with the bike(2009)

Yes, the sliders are different castings, but the holes are in the same locations. It appears you just have a bracket to "New/Later casting" interference and some relief is needed.

FWIW, buellrider76 is using 40mm Brembos so those are different brackets and don't really compare.

If you don't feel comfortable massaging the parts, you might see if you can send to QTMI. They might do it as a courtesy to see how their parts fit the newer slider castings.

These are the part numbers for the brackets and the rh bracket itself
Apparently they haven't made a bracket for the later castings maybe like you said multi maybe I can offer to send the slider along with the bracket for them to design a newer bracket for later models and help everyone out in the end. I'll call Tara Monday to discuss

HrdNox,
Damn, that is a nice brake set up. What was all in costs for that if you don't mind and a parts list. I have a 2012 fatbob and have upgraded brake pads to lyndalls but some more stopping power would be good.
Thanks, Bill

you having a dual disc setup saves you a lot already but this conversion isn't cheap go to qtmi's website and search for the kit they run about 900 a side or you can do what I did and buy the parts separate and save some $$

takeoff brembos can be had for 100-150 a set in good condition
rotors can be had for 275-400 depending on brand and size (I'm going for 320mm braketech rotors ) I'd recommend going bigger to enhance the braking power.
gonna need custom brake lines as well.

This is is definitely a winter project as it takes a lot of research to gather a parts list.

or the budget route would be to buy speed merchant tokico adapters and tokico calipers (about 300 for brackets and calipers) and run your stock size 11.8 rotors. Just need custom lines and you'd be set
