This feature has not worked on my bike since Oct. Dropped it off at the dealer yesterday. They're saying it needs a new TCU to fix the problem, which is being replaced at no charge. We'll see if that fixes anything, but I won't be signing up to pay for this after the one year free subscription. I've already lost four months and it's just too unreliable to pay money for.
You haven't lost 4 months. The 12 month clock will start on the day of activation. And I'm willing to bet that your TCU works just fine, the techs at the dealer just don't understand the process for enabling it. That was my situation.
So my H-D Connect app stopped reflecting new info months ago. I did all I could do on my end and spoke to their customer support. Finally took it in the dealer they figured out the TCU was not working and because of Covid the manufacturer was closed so had to wait. I got a call last week from the dealer, H-D connect app will be deactivated at the end of August and therefore the TCU won’t be needed anymore. That HD has decided the app was causing too much trouble, not working well. This is disappointing because I really liked the app and information I could access with it. Especially knowing if someone was tampering with my bike. The service guy who gave me this news recommended I contact higher up to see what they can do for me. This feature really was a selling point for me. Of course I love my bike but I am bummed about this. Not sure if this info helps anyone.
Unfortunately, it’s true. Just received this email. The app definitely wasn’t great, and if you didn’t have the RDRS (which I didn’t) it didn’t really seem like there was much to see.

They are really missing the boat on this. Too bad they screwed it up. This could have been the gateway to getting younger buyers, buyers who are always connected. Plus marketing, plus all the data sharing that would generate more money for the company... etc. See Google and Amazon. Like it or not its our world today.

Im writing, emailing and calling MoCo to complain. If enough of us do that they may not discontinue. They are making free forever for LiveWire owners.
Sweet. Now I can take that paperweight out of the fairing next time I have it open. It didn't offer any value so I won't miss it.
Also, free isn't free if you have to expose your credit card info.
The dealer told me it might throw an engine code if removed. Let me know how it works for you. I'm hopeful for no codes, but worst case, they create a plug to cap the wires.
I posted about this earlier this week.
UI was trying to connect with my new bike, and couldn't even get to H-D Connect Welcome screen on my phone.
I called H-D Connect Support and was told by "Tom" that the entire H-D Connect system was gone. It's been discontinued and is no longer available. Period.
He said there wasn't enough "Take Up", (customers).

Has anyone taken it out of the fairing? I’d like to remove it for placement of an amp if it’s useless. Thanks

Ive been calling and registering service issues because I couldn’t get it to connect. Informed them that dealers were still advertising it and it is stupid that they’re giving it free to live wire when there are so many touring bikes on the road. I will continue to write and call. Hope more do!
