So, we're going for a ride tomorrow and my buddy's bike just started cheesing out. We're getting nothing from the rear cylinder. No problems with the spark for sure (we troubleshot all night on this one). We swiched out the fuel injectors from the front to the rear with the same result. Is there something we're overlooking? It's definitely the rear cylinder and the ignition is definetely getting spark to it. Plugs are good. Something weird - the plug for the rear looked fine when we first pulled it out, then after switching the injectors and trying it a few minutes, it looked a little rich. Any ideas????? Is there a module that controls the injectors on the rear that might be bad?
Thanks in advance for any advice!
There have been some issues with the 06 and later Dynas with broken wiring to the injectors. Check your leads to the injectors.
Right on if you have spark the only thing missing is be gas. If you have the plug out does a gas smelling mist come out of the hole when you turn it over?
We're working on a 2006 Street Bob. I apologize for not mentioning that, but after drinking beer all night and working on the bikes it slipped my mind lol.
We checked out the leads last night and one for the rear injector was broken inside. We re-soldered it, heat shrinked it, and put it back together, but still nothing. We thought for sure the problem would be fixed after that...very dissappointing. Gonna ping the wire out again today just to make sure.

When your checking the wiring with an ohm meter, do so as if you were checking ignition wires (Move the wire around when checking the continuity from point "A" to point "B").

Just for grins, you said you switched injectors and fixed the wire and then it looked rich, right? looking rich probably means it is now getting fuel Have you replaced the spark plug, just because it fires when looking at it, doesn,t mean it will fire under compression.
So here's what we've come up with:
The wire going to the injector was definitely pulling apart. Even if that isn't what caused it, it would have eventually.
We checked the plugs last night to make sure they were getting fire and they were, but aparently not enough. I took the coil off of my bike ('07 Super Glide) and put it on his and presto, the thing actually worked. I've never seen a coil fire too weak...usually it works or it doesn't, but then again I'm not a seasoned bike mechanic.
One more thing - if the coil is bad, why did it flash a code for the rear injector? Could it be both the wire to the injector and the coil went bad around the same time????
