Default Twin cam 88

Does anyone here know if a bottom end off of a 1998 twin cam 88 will bolt up to everything else on my 2006 street glide with the twin cam 88? Had a cam bearing go bad and ruin my case

They didn't 98 model year TCs. 99 will fit but you have to be aware of blocking an oil passage if you use a later then 99 cam plate.

I’m assuming the engine was built in 1998, but it was in a 1999 bike

Depending on how much of the lower end you'll be using, the early 99 model years will have a cam gear issue. All 99s had the cam bearing issue. You probably want to replace the inner cam bearings with full complement needles anyway.

Just send the case to John Dahmer Darkhorse Crankworks. They repair those.

Blaine there is a complete road glide 96” motor on eBay for $1400 free shipping item number 174307095204. Don’t know if you want to spend that kind of money however you to upgrade to all the newer cam components oil pump cam door and can go 103 in the future.

A 96 ci motor won't fit in an 06 bagger.

I call it TCTDS

Twin Cam Tensioner Derangement Syndrom.

I've had 7 Twin Cams from 2000-2015 and never had an issue. Check them every 20k and replace as necessary.

I agree. Do them the first time with adjustable push rods, Cyco tensioner pads and new Koyo inner bearings. Then maybe in another 40 or 50 thousand miles you may have to replace the tensioner pads again.
