Default Somebody has to start

Saw this lonely sub forum without a single thread/post so I thought I would get it started. Anybody here got one of these models?

I wouldn't expect much chatter for these models. The MoCo partnered up with QJ Motors (CHINA) to rename their bikes as a Harley Davidson. The Chinesium Harley is NOT sold in the USA .

QJ makes the X350 and the X500, in China, under a joint venture with Harley, and the bikes are offered for sale throughout Asia. They are sold in Harley dealerships in Australia.

The X350 is actually in America, but not for sale. It's the bike used by the Harley Rider Academy, a special modified version called the X350RA. It has crash bars and a detuned engine to make it suitable for first-timers.

The X500 and X350 are liquid-cooled parallel twins. The X500 is basically the same bike as the Benelli Leoncino 500, but with a different tank, seat, and other cosmetic changes (QianJiang Motors also bought Benelli).

On a side note, QJ bought Benelli, but kept the Italian office staffed with designers. The Benelli bikes are made in China but designed by Italians to Italian specs; they are not Chinese designs. Harley entered into a joint venture with QJ to produce the X350 and X500. The relationship is a bit incestuous; Benelli and Harley motorcycles that are fundamentally identical under the tins are sold as competitors to each other, but that's not really all that unusual for Harley, where the various Softails are largely identical under the tins and are sometimes only really different bikes based on things like handlebars and forward or mid controls.

The X440 is made in India by Hero, one of the largest motorcycle manufacturers on the planet. The X440 is a new original Hero design, and it uses a newly-designed, simple, single-cylinder oil-cooled engine. Hero is the distributor for all Harley bikes in India, from the CVO on down to the Nightster and everything in between, and also the X440 and any future bikes they come up with.

None of these bikes has been announced as coming to the USA, and possibly may never be sold here (although the old "never say never" adage may apply). Currently the only way for a USA resident to experience any of these would be to take a Rider Safety Course from the Harley Rider's Academy, where they'd be assigned an X350RA.

Does NZ get the 440, or just the 350 & 500?

So far liking it, it might not have that Harley look but it has that Harley feel, very old school just ABS and no other tech even have to remember what gear you are in.
