Yep. Another comparator question.
is there a way to tell if your compensator is bad without totally removing it?

it did but the whole thing does that. I took it out already.

They can rattle and still be good. Look at the splines that the sliding cam runs on. They typically wear out..

You got that right.
I looked further and found out how there could be little tiny pieces of metal on the magnet in the drain plug…
Compensator blues 1

Compensator blues 2

corresponding part is pristine. Got the call into HD to see if they have a compensator in stock.

I'd say you found it.. You'll need the kit with the SE comp and new alternator rotor. Use JB weld to install the deflector.

Got a new compensator, they had one in stock.

I’ve dealt with Redline Harley twice now and no complaints about the treatment. the parts people are peaches!

new compensator is installed and ready to go when the JB weld is dry enough… about 11:00 am tomorrow.

If you look at it, it's an 06B. Nothing wrong with the 06A if it's working for ya.
