Default 2024 6k Heritage big issues already

Not to worried about it tbh as it’s all covered under warranty but it needs clutch main bearing and gearbox main output shaft bearing replaced which is no small job.

6k miles is nothing so I have to assume a bad bearing from new.
bike was a Harley fleet bike when I bought it .

Anyone had similar?

Yes, owned by Harley UK as part of their fleets of bikes . Possibly being demo or perhaps rental.

I think he means a dealer demo bike, could be wrong.
I had a good friend that had a 2019 trike with 30,000 miles and the main drive gear roller bearing failed. Main drive gear, main shaft, main bearing all bad. I think the total bill was $3400. HD would not help, you had to have all the maintenance documented and the dealer doing the work had to jump thru hoops just to submit a claim.
So yes have heard a similar story.
My theory is it is a mechanical piece of equipment with a lot of components that could fail and some will. JMHO

Are you trying to determine if this is a chronic condition?

No, it is not.

There were some bearing issues and some gear tooth issues years ago, but the 6 speed has become a reliable unit these days.

But...stuff happens with all machinery.

Glad it is being taken care of, post some pics of the failed parts if you can.

Update
After the bearing replacement, the bike wasn’t used much over winter and was out for a run in February. Started to hear a metallic rattle from the clutch so it went back to Harley

They were happy all was ok, but said they had “ made an adjustment” , why ? If all was ok.

Anyway, out yesterday on a run, and by the time I got back, the drive was howling again, exactly the same as it was when the bearings were knackered.

Not amused. Back to Harley again.
