Talking Your take! 2018 CVO Limited M8 Engine Upgrade

KSU HD M8 officiandos!
My 2018 CVO Limited has 81k miles and is going in for some work on the sound system.
I have an itch to upgrade the engine and almost pushed the button on a 131 crate engine, coupled with a King 6 transmission, but found the increase in torque I'm looking for was not enough to justify the spend.
The stock cam provides decent torque, but when I'm two up and loaded with gear for a two-week trip, it's a bit sluggish on hills and I just want more. Pouring through Fuel Moto dyno charts gives a few ideas, but I am not interested in a 2 into 1 exhaust (I like the look of my dual Rineharts). I'm left still wondering what to do and figured I'd ask fellow riders what they think would be a killer upgrade path for me.
I'm not a racer, and I don't care overly much about over 85 MPH....I want good torque off the line and up hills with decent passing power.
Anyone care to offer some advice here?
Many thanks in advance...

JD

You dont need a 131 motor or the king 6 transmission for how you ride. At 81k miles, you do need to refresh your motor as well as get the right cam and dyno for a strong torque curve 1700-3200 rpm. If this was my bike, I would do something along these lines: Feuling HP+ 405 Camchest Kit For Harley Oil Cooled M8 2017-2026 - Cycle Gear

Kojak, many thanks for your recommendation. I'm checking it out. The price is much more palatable than the 131 crate OR kit, for sure, and a better course of action for what I want to achieve. This will likely be my last Harley unless I strike it rich sometime......gotta juice it up a bit.

There a many experts here and I am not one of them. However, I was about to do a cam upgrade on my 2019 Road Glide Ultra before I totally changed directions and bought a new trike. I had already purchased an S&S kit when I started to wonder what would happen if and it is a big if, the runout on that bike was out of limits? My RGU has 42K miles and I was thinking that the thing has never gave me a bit of trouble sans the oil transfer issue when I first bought it. Dealer fixed that under warranty and it has ran flawlessly since. Somehow, knowing my luck, the runout would be out of limits and require and new crank shaft or at a minimum, splitting the cases to address the issue.
