Default The wheel turns 'round...

...But which way is that rotation? I never paid much attention to the fat tire bikes and their wheels that were *not* spoked. Thing is, after fighting those spoked rims last year in the summer changing the tires with spoons, and having to fart around so much with the tubes, I got some '95 fatboy rims, the solid disc type, to change out my spoked rims to those and not have to fight tubs anymore - a young mans thing to do and I'm not that and I'm also gimpy.

My problem is...the rear wheel. Which side is for what? They pretty much look the same to me and I must simply be pretty stupid (not far-fetched) to be unable to figure it out. Can anyone show me with pic's maybe or something I can *see* that will help? I have the tire-changing machine (the manual one from No-Mar), but I'd sure hate to have to change the tire twice and messing around with trying to put it back on the bike to find out I got it backwards...that'd just plain be the *****.

Quick youtube surf shows schrader valve on right side of bike. Not sure if that helps you or not.

The sprocket bolts are 7/16x14 and the rotor bolts are 3/8x16 TPI. Since the sprocket is on the left side and the brake rotor is on the right side, there's your answer.

I couldn`t remember so I went out to the garage and looked...My `89 Softail has a mid `90s Fatboy wheel on the rear.

Tire valve on the R/H side.

Take a look at the bolt hole sizes. The bigger size would be for the pulley.
