HD Boom audio headset
I am using a HD Boom audio headset for my wife and I on my trike. I have been fighting a problem with the cord and plug on the side of the helmet connection. It appears to be tight, but in reality it is loose. If I wiggle it a little the connection to the radio and intercom cuts in and out. I have tried tie wrapping the cord in different positions to hold the cord in place. It works for a while and then starts cutting in and out. My passenger spends too much time wiggling it around.
Since this is a common problem with both headsets, could it maybe be the plugs up front and on the side of the tour pack. I am really fishing on this one.
Any advice short of discarding them both? Thanks for your help[.

What other choices do I have for another headset?

I shared that I use the same setup on my 21 ultra and have been using this method since 2004. I have never experienced this in all of that time.
Make sure your AVC - auto vol control is properly adjusted. It might be that you think it is cutting out - but, it is really the AVC cutting off.
Checked the AVC, but don't think that is the problem, Everything cuts out.
As for Cardo, I did try it early on, but couldn't get it to work. Then I was told I needed a WHIM, at a hefty price. That killed that option. So, I went wired.
Update: I sprayed contact cleaner on all plugs this morning. So far, the music plays in both helmets. I can hear my wife, but she cannot hear me. I know my intercom is working, because when I speak, the INT icon on the dash goes white. I can usually hear myself when I speak, but that is not the case now. Hmmm.....
Thanks for your replies. Still trying to figure this out, short of 2 tin cans and a string.

the way, my buddy does it. The GTS radio needs to have a microphone plugged in order for CarPlay to work. There are dozens of little jumpers online that you can buy for like 10 or $12. So now that the radio will actually display the CarPlay what you have to do is from your iPhone tell it to send all audio to the cardo. so in essence, the screen is just showing you everything that the CarPlay would show you but all the audio the voice control is going through your headset and then your headset will talk back-and-forth with your wife, as if it were intercom. When you wanna do something with CarPlay, you hit the button on the left handlebar, and your headset will then allow the microphone to speak to the CarPlay.

You said your wife can't hear you - try turning up her vol. Note, she can only do this while you are talking to her.
