Default So whats in your bags? Or whats your EDC on your Sporty?

There was some posts the other day talking about bags. Myself I can never seem to have enough storage. Got me thinking about what I carry & what others carry and why. So hey what are you carrying in your bags? I’ll start first & enter a post bag for bag with a picture & description. If there is something I should be carrying let me know. Got a question on why I carry something, ask.

First bag is my tank pouch. Not much here just what I need in immediate reach. Some paper towels in a zip lock so I can clean up any gas that drips, my garage remote, and a wipe for my glasses. Not much room in there after that. I also stick my filler cap in here when I gas up.

Ok so this is my tail bag. It’s an amazon special oversized tool bag that resides on my sissybar. The stock plastic buckles were junk but it was easy enough to replace them with metal ones. I carry my inflator & hose in its case, some octane booster for those emergency low octane fill ups, the remote for my restart battery, and a couple paper funnels in case I need to use a fuel bottle.

This is my clutch side saddle bag. I keep things in it I need less often or I don’t want to get as hot. In it is my rainliner for my jacket & the bag I keep it in. A battery & usb cables for my phone or plug-phones. A flat pack of duct tape, Velcro ties, my air pump for my shocks, and an emergency quart of oil.

My bike is generally a bar hopper, but I don't drink so I guess it's more of a coffee shop hopper actually. My only storage is this box the license plate is mounted on which has my legal documents and some spare fuses.

On longer trips I carry this on a small rear rack with all the basic tools needed to repare a rigid mount Sporty.

Last one. This is my brake side bag. I took a few more pictures of this stuff. This is what sits right above the pipes & can handle the heat (like tools) or I need to get to easier.

First up in the side pocket is: My insurance & registration in a ziplock. A metal plate for grass lots, and a helmet lock with a couple of steel cables for locking my helmet & jacket to the bike.

Next is my tool roll: Loctite, self-amalgamating silicon tape (electrical issues or oil lines), electrical tapes, fuses, channel locks, hex keys, needle nose pliers, a variety of wrenches in the common sizes, zip ties, a tire gauge, a multi tool, a multibit driver, more hex keys, some torx keys, slip joint pliers, and a tire repair kit with plugs in the handle.

In this photo is the rest of it. I n the big zip lock I keep various things: The specific tools to adjust my fairing. My readers. My spare gloves. And some pain killers & tums.

I also keep outside the big bag a shop towel for checking oil & a microfiber towel for cleaning my visor.

And this is how it all fits in.

After riding approximately 930 to the south of France I discovered I don't need to carry oil. if the engine dumps it then I have bigger problems. In an emergency situation oil designed for diesel engines will do.

My bike came equipped with saddlebags.

I carry a small toolkit that I have used several times. I needed it the other day to tighten a small bracket that holds the clutch cable away from the headlamp. I also have a puncture repair kit, a tyre inflator compressor, a jump starter / booster, waterproof over suit, a couple of fuses and bulbs, a small cable lock for my crash helmet, a hand rag, a clean microfibre cloth to wipe any petrol spills, bug spray for visor and a cable to connect the phone to a usb socket.

First thing no one is going to steel a sporty so you don't need that stuff. Also you don't have room for your blow up doll

If I can effect a repair at the side of the road and not have to wait for assistance I will. Most of our roadside assistance companies use third party operators who can take hours to respond.

Not sure what steel has to do with anything.

Where I live people will steal anything that isn't nailed down. And even then they'll wrap a chain around it and rip it out of the ground with a truck if they think they can trade it for drugs. This includes trees in your front yard if they are expensive like sego palms. Just saw some crazy homeless guy sitting at a bus stop the other day wearing a dirt bike helmet. And a blow up doll would be the first thing they would steal.

Angry, irrelevant, trolls gonna act like what they are.

And yeah, some folks would steal the lint outta your belly button if it aint locked down. No lock will keep a determined thief out but most locks will keep the casual thief away.
