I have the wiseco kit and I’m going to be in the high rpm range a lot and I am using my stock heads I’m wondering if I will need upgraded valves or head work done so I don’t blow it up after I spend all this money
Curious why you're going to be in the high rpm range a lot without changes to the cams. You might want to go dig around on Hammer Performances website as there is more to it than just changing pistons/jugs and they have tons of good info on the subject. If I was doing this upgrade I would definitely be putting in cams as well while I had the top end apart. You don't need to get crazy with it to get some good results. It might be worth a call to Hammer as well.

While you are enlarging the space creating the 1200cc, you have did no other modifications to even increase your chance of hitting anything valve train wise. You also won’t be able to hit any higher RPM without raising that in a programmable ignition system.
With that said, if you are buying the proper kit it’s designed for stock 883 heads.
Everything works in harmony the carb will need a rework, to give you a bit more fuel.
I think you know this leaves a lot performance on the table, compression ratio, head flow, cams choices.
The higher RPM you seem to want will be unlocked by doing all of it.
