At least you'll know some real engineering went into the design, and Speaker's LED lights are US made.
Hmmm, I take it then you don't like this one either......

Nobody should.... you can't just throw an HID kit or an LED bulb into a standard housing and think it's okay. Those housings are not designed to focus the light as they should for those applications. That dude's right.... this topic has been beat senseless on just about every automotive/motorcycle forum I've ever seen. Want the best light out there right now? Buy the JW Speaker 8700 Evolution 2 Headlamp assembly. I replaced my Harley LED with it because it is an improved variant and I can personally attest to that. It's also 1/2 the price that I paid for my Harley Davidson LED!

But hey.... if you guys wanna throw a "cheapo" light in there to save a few bucks... go ahead. You'll just be pissing off on-coming traffic and begging for the cops to pull you over and hand you out a fine. I think after a fine or two.... the "proper" headlight assembly should start to look fairly reasonable in cost. Hell, when you get pulled over for your headlights... you may even get a copper with a hard-on for bikers and get tickets for a loud exhaust etc. too.

Just a quick follow-up.....Had this now long enough to really give a review of the headlight. Understanding this is just my opinion, so all you haters out there, lighten up.

I've never felt safer driving at night, period. Light gives me a substantial increase in the length of the light on the road. The best part is that it's very focused and doesn't spill over to the other lane. I've only had one instance where an oncoming car flashed me...I quickly flashed back and he wet his pants {my assumption}

That said, with the High-beams on I probably look like a train coming at you. WOW. I highly recommend the JW Speaker gen-2.....but again, my opinion only

I just ordered one through Amazon for $279 + $6.49 shipping. One of the best prices I've found. Looking forward to it.

I'm glad someone else spoke up about this stuff. I went with the original Daymaker 5" on my Breakout, but changed the bucket to a 7" so that I could run the Speaker Evo 2. If you run at night in the city, your headlight is a bit less important, but in the country at night a well designed LED headlight can mean all the difference in safety when it's your a$$ on the line.

And as for the guy who said I didn't know about Phase 7... Yeah, I've watched Trucklite's LED's evolve from pretty iffy to pretty good, but I'd still rate them below JW Speaker's Evolution 2.
