I was riding to work just before five this morning and I thought the stock headlight on my bike was doing an "ok" job. Then another bike came up behind me with an LED headlight and I saw my bike's shadow in front of me clear as day. I couldn't even tell if my headlight was even on at this point. So obviously, I am now in the market for a good quality LED. HD offers the Daymaker Projector LED. Is this the best quality out there?
yes. it's a JW Speaker light. I have them in all my OTR trucks, 4 wheelers and my bike. They are plain and simple, the best out there. Well worth the money.
do not buy an hd daymaker unless you just have to have "HD" on everything. huge waste of money and 4-5+ years behind the market in terms light technology. it's an old rebranded jw speacker design circa 2011/2012. don't do it spend that same money on a better quality light directly from jw speaker, custom dynamics, vision x, etc...
folks will pop up say.. "oh my daymaker is [x] and [y]", critical question... compared to what? you can beat a stock headlight with a tactical maglight.
also, you can go to any walmart or auto parts store and get some brighter halogen h4 bulbs to put in you stock housing. another option is an led bulb retrofit.
It is brighter and has a better light pattern than the real Daymaker. (At 1/8 the price.)
To be fair, I've only had the one from Amazon about three weeks or so, but I have no regrets about buying it. So far, as noted, it is straight up better.
Best of luck!
Edited to add: The "straight up better" comment is an "eyeball guage" for me. I don't know the differences in the numbers/specs. It just LOOKS better.
