Did you put another plate inside the bag to sandwich the bag between the two?

i was going to, and bought two pieces of plate for that very reason, but discovered it was unecessary in my case as the steer hide leather is super thick and stiff. I just used washers. There are eight bolts through the back including the three that mount the plate to the bike. Although I did throw in the crummy backing plate from the bobber bracket kit on the three studs inside, but not beacuse it needs it, I ran out of washers so it’s temporary.

The only thing I may do is order some buttonhead cap screws and reverse the hardware, so there is only the button heads showing inside the bag. Could replace the studs that way too, would just have to play with the length and cut them so they didn’t protrude into the belt area as is the case with the stock hardware. As it is, I just installed some vinyl thread caps with a dab of rtv inside them to prevent anything catching on them inside the bag.

Otter, you raised both front and rear of your tank, right? Mind sharing amounts please? Thanks a bunch in advance Sir!
Edit; also. With your coil relocation... Did it throw codes?
Like how it looks a lot.

Thanks! I raised the front 2" and the rear 3/4". The coil relocation won't throw a code, the computer doesn't know where it is I am replacing the coil this week with the model that is used on the fatboy and installing a coil cover from a crossbones. It wont throw a code for that either, same resistance in the coil, and same wiring, just a different physical shape.

Thanks Otter.
I'll be checkin for a 1.5" front and rear for 3/4". I'm on a Corbin Classic and raising the rear might prove problematic. Keeping fingers crossed.

So as for a coil relo, keeping resistance equal to stock is vital to avoid throwing codes. So using the stock coil is possible and just get the re locator should do the trick.

There's only two coils that are used for the canbus softails as far as what I've been able to see, the one that the slim comes stock with, and the one that most everything else comes stock with, which is designed physically to have a cover over it, and it is shallower in size. So with the addition of this coil(which I picked up last night) and the crossbones cover, the coil will sit closer to the engine slightly and offer a little more slack in the wires. Also, it will look a lot more finished with the cover. Electronically it is the same coil, so the computer should see it the same as what the bike came stock with.
