I recently picked up a slim over the winter and people keep asking me if I named my bike. Well, I haven't named my bike yet...I can't think of anything worthy. I thought it might be interesting to see who else has named their bikes, and if there was a story for the namesake. Post away!

 

I have not named either of my bikes but when my 1970 Triumph won't start after a couple of kicks I usually say "come on you bitch". So I guess my Triumphs name could be Bitch.

 

I haven't named my bike. I haven't had the urge so I'll wait and see. I have named most of my guitars.

1980 Fender Bullet body with Strat neck is called, "Beat Up Betty",
2004 Gretsch Anniversary is called, "Annie",
2005 Gibson Les Paul is called, "Anastasia",
2000 Gretsch Streamliner is called, "Grace"

 

My bike was for the most part a gift from my Wife so as my description reads both of their names are "Renee".

 

My hot rod Sportster is black with candy orange metalflake scallops with apes is fast and sexy so she is named Elvira. My Deluxe with Springer bags, 180 rear wheel and tire, beach bars and air suspension is low wide and curvy and black and chrome. What else would I name her other than Mae West. I tell my wife when I am going out to the garage to work that I am going out to see my girls.

My 2014 Slim has the dubious honor of being named "Blanche"...after Blanche from Streetcar Named Desire. Blanche (Vivian Leigh) goes insane after being the victim of Stanley's advances (as played by Marlon Brando). Not sure what it says about me, but a tip of the hat to Brando for "The Wild One". My second bike that I am purchasing next year may be named "Stella".

the 03 black electra is Black Betty
the 06 red with flames electra is "the flaming red torpedo"
the 06 custom softail is "the ****"
the 07 blue street glide is "shrek's sister"
and my 13 breakout hasn't fully settled in on a name yet but since it is a younger version of "the ****" it has been called prom queen, harlot and *****.. since i cannot help name my own in our group that is where it is headed.

 

There was another thread about this very thing some time ago. One of the first responses to that thread was similar to the one already made here along the lines of "I call her Bitch when she won't start so her name is Bitch!" :-P

I thought the name idea was kind of silly then and after seeing this thread pop up I guess I still sortta do. I've never had a soul ask me if I've named my bike and I've yet to come across any other riders who have.
