Default Custom cut Fat Boy rims lose integrity?

Bought a 2008 Fat Boy that appears to have had its rims custom CNC'd. I've seen these on the bay and the previous owner must have had the work done. I didn't think about it until now, but would anyone know if this cutting would compromise integrity? Probably not but someone brought it up and it made me think about it for a minute. I'm considering a change to the Reaper or something that's not so solid, I've had it out a couple of times this winter and it happened to be more windy than normal and it was pushing me around pretty good.

I'm not an engineer so I won't comment on the integrity ... I will say they look cool and unique !

I wouldn't worry about the integrity of the rims unless you start to see cracking. There are numerous wheels out there with a a lot less substance.

I would only consider the unsprung weight as being an issue. Then again, you're on a cruiser and not a sport bike. So don't expect it to ride like one.

My bike has some wheels on it that are done up by the same company (Impress Polish & Plating). Been on for almost 4 years now. No problems. They did a excellent job - they didn't even need any balancing weights on them once tires were mounted. I do constantly inspect them for cracks, tho...

Thanks for the compliments! And I looked up Impress Polish and Painting and sure enough, there they are! The previous owner must have sent pics there because the bike is on the website's gallery. I'll take the advice and keep an eye on them for any cracking.

The bars are the HD 12 in. Fat Mini-Ape Handlebar Kit with Riser-56832-04C, looks and feels really good. I question the moco's quality control, though, because I found what looks like a dimple on the throttle side of the bars about halfway down, almost like they tied a noose around it and dipped it in chrome. Went to the dealer to talk about it, and they had a set in the back that had the same issue. After a week or two talking to them about replacing it, they came back with "part of the manufacturing process" and won't replace them. And now that I know it's there, it bugs me. So if you're looking to buy them new, look closely.
