If you are trying to save it a heat gun will soften the rubber or lots of WD-40 and carefully move it around past the tabs.

I thought I'd save my original too - Ended up with the utility knife option!! I figured the original would just be sitting in a box somewhere anyway.
When I took mine off I used an insulin syringe filled with soapy water and injected all around the pad. Then I used my heat gun to warm it up. It came off with little to no effort.
I have used this method for several years on rubber parts. An old bike wrencher showed me when I was a kid.
