Make her part of the experience. Take ger to the dealer, buy her some HD clothes or boots. Make sure to take her on rides and she will come around. Two years later put my wife through the riders course and she wanted her own bike. Good luck and congrats

When I walked into the dealership and the man asked me what I wanted, I told him that I wanted a black Springer. He said that he could get me one and I said you just sold it. My wife looked surprised at me and I said to her, "you always knew that I was impulsive." She didn't have any comment about that because she knew that I was right. My wife didn't say anything about the bike, and it probably wouldn't have made a diff. She'll get over it just like my wife did. Enjoy the ride.

Congrat's on a great bike. I'll say a prayer for you that all goes well on the domestic front!

My wife figured out (after about a dozen years) that the only way I would stop whining everytime a HD rider drove past me was to let me get one of my own.

Roses and a lot of special attention in the next couple of weeks will help win her over.

You could always name your bike after your wife

That just might beat the ticket. I'm lucky enough that my wife loves bikes and can't wait to get on the back of mine...

Congratulations on the bike. Defiantly keep us posted on what you do to the bike, especially the pipes. I have ordered the same bike (different colors). Ship date: Today Sep 19 ! With about a week or so on the road. I hope no delays. I am curious, did you pre-pay or you put a deposit? My dealer asked for a small deposit but never charged my credit card.

Don't need to wish good luck with the new bike, just the marriage. Not consulting your partner on a $30G expense is considered a big NO NO in most marriages.

Everyone please no more wife advice. She is OK with it. We generally don't ask for approval on material purchases. My original post asked if anyone knew about exhaust restrictions for 2006 modifications. Thanks again.

"We'll see what tomorrow brings".....I guess after reading your post most of us thought you needed a place to sleep! I saw one of these bikes at the local dealer -WOW!

Closed the deal on Fat Boy SE 2006 Autum Haze Abyss Blue yesterday. ETA first week of Oct. Just broke the news to the wife. She went upstairs without a word. We'll see what tomorrow brings. Anyway I want to put V&H Pro HS exaust system on. Tech manager wasn't available yesterday to give me advice. I read some threads about exhaust restrictions for 2006 modifications. Anyone with more detailed info would be appreciated. Will post pics as soon as I pull it in the garage. I have read many post since joining, and just want to say that 99.9% of you guys & gals have been great. Good people out there. God Bless.

Hell - if that's the case - buy yourself a 2nd bike while you're at it!!!
