Default Installation Time

Got a quote from my local stealer to replacethe stock parts with achrome clutch bracket and master reservoir kit and also the chrome switch housing. They are quoting 2 hours for labor - is this reasonable or is this excessive? Is it worth shopping around?

That sounds very fair to me...but I don't have a Flat Rate Manual handy! There's a bunch of work involved with the swap!

Good luck!

That sounds like about half as long as it would take you to do it yourself, which is usually about right for most of us. By the way, why don't you do it yourself?

I love the way these stealers operate they use the flat rate book and the employees share in the saved hours with a share of the money made on the hours they save meaning if a job calls for two hours in the book we get charged for it and the tech does it in an hour that's an hour in the bonus bank. at the end of the week the total number of hours saved is added up and the workers get a piece of it and that's what creates problems they are always under pressure to produce. on the other hand if they go over what the book said in hours we pay the extra

That's not the way flat rate works up here. The book says x hours, and that's what they charge, whether it takes less or more time. And there's no pool; each employee gets paid the number of flat rate hours he/she books.

Cheers!
