Default How do you clean your spokes?

We have a '12 Heritage and I would like to know how you clean your spokes you know the spot between the spoke cross over where they touch mid way up the spokes?
And do you use any kind of chrome/rust protectant?
Thanks.

I used to use Turtle wax chrome polish and a fat shoe lace. Apply polish to shoe lace wrap lace once or twice around spoke and then pull back and fourth. Time consuming but great results. Did this for years now all my bikes have mag wheels, make life a tad bit simpler.

+1...no way in hell I'm gonna sit there doin spokes. All in good time they'll be history, why would I care about if they get waxed or not.
Edit: Wanted to add, when I pull the wheels for a tire change I will seal them with a good wax. That's what, every 12k ± miles?

Slowly.....

Fat shoe lace and some cheap chrome polish. Dip laces in it and tug away.

My routine for cleaning the spokes:
1. S100 and a garden hose
2. Soak fat shoelace in Windex, wrap around spoke and pull back and forth up and down each spoke
3. Clean up any stubborn dirt with 0000 steel wool
4. Apply chrome polish to each spoke with a shoelace.

I usually do this once every 2-3 months. I can spend up to 1 hour per wheel when cleaning the spokes individually.
