Default Taking the stock seat off my 2003 Fatboy HELP

So I am trying to get to the battery on my 2003 Fatboy so I can put her to bed and hook a battery tender to it. For the love of everything holy I can't take the stock seat off!

I loosened the rear screw holding the 'back seat' to the fender and it pops right up. The passenger strap (which wraps around the entire seat) is held on by 2 bolts, one comes off....the other one isn't budging but that's not the huge problem as there is plenty of give. I then loosened the two side screws on either side of the seat underneath the little leather flaps on either side to the point where they are not screwed into anything (....but like the rear screw it doesn't come out which shouldn't be a problem as it's not making contact with anything). I know after this I'm supposed to lift up then pull back on the rear of the main seat and it should come disengaged......but it's not even budging. Tried wiggling it like crazy....but doesn't even move a fraction. Am I missing something???

Anybody out there with this bike/seat/situation that can please help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Maybe pull the seat back and up first before lifting it off. There's a tab that goes under a bar by the tank. I sort of lift the back towards the tank to wiggle it out. Or try pushing the front of the seat towards the back with a slight tap.

Take a screwdriver and gently pry one side of the seat at the screw on the side, should then lift off. Get the screwdriver between the seat frame and the bike frame, give a slight twist.

I am not sure about the newer bikes, but the older bikes, you must completely remove the two large side bolts because there is an eyelet on the seat the bolts go through, not just a notch to slide over the bolt.

Thanks guys. I'll give it another whirl tomorrow. I rode 50 miles yesterday in 60 degree weather.......and right now it's snowing. A sure sign I need to put her to bed for a few months......Gotta love November.

loosen screws on each side of seat, they wont come off , just loosen; then push in on screws as you lift up on back of seat. Pull seat up and back because there is a tongue which goes inside the frame's backbone/spine under gas tank...just loosen and push in on screws to disengage the seat.
