I was wondering if the new 2018 Heritage bags would fit a 2018 Deluxe ? I think if the new Deluxe had bags, a shield, heel & toe shifter and highway bars it would have a better look than the new Heritage. I know it's just a matter of opinion but it's more the look I'm after rather than the new Heritage. Anyone else thinking the same way ?

 

I have been a Heritage guy for years, classic bike that does much right. The classic Heritage has the chrome front end, large headlight etc. What they did to the 2018 Heritage is disgusting to me. I then looked at the 2018 Deluxe and visually pictured it upgrading items that would make more the the classic Heritage. The Deluxe has shotgun exhaust, the Heritage has staggered pipes to allow more clearance for the bags. Exhaust would have to be changed to gain the gap under the right bag. Other changes would be the bars, 2 up seat and likely not have the c/control like the Heritage. Then add the windshield and several other items. It would do great as a Heritage.

 

These aren't the same bags but they are from parts and accessories catalog.

Like I said elsewhere, I think there is something for everybody in the new bikes and sometimes it just takes a few simple bolt ons.

 

Those are better looking than the Heritage bags.

I mentioned this as an alternative to the Heritage last week in another thread. As was pointed out to me, the only downfall, besides the extra cost of the windshield, rider backrest and bags is the fact that only the smaller 107 engine is available on the Deluxe.

 

That's still an upgrade to the 103 in my 17 Heritage!
