Breakout Pro Vs Breakout 2018s
I've set my eyes on a breakout pro coz of the aggressive attitude and the 110B motor.
In talks with a private seller in negotiating a deal for a breakout pro.
The 2018s has the new upgraded M8 engine & suspension and better handling & also reduction in weight as claimed by MoCo
Any breakout pro owner what will the pros & cons for choosing a breakout Pro over the 2018 breakout or viceversa
Thoughts and inputs are much appreciated

100% you best ride them yourself. They look and fit different for starters. I love the 114 M8, as do most who bought them, but some strongly prefer the Twin Cam. They are completely different motors in almost every respect. To me they both feel like a Harley, but there are trade offs either way. You're going to get a flood of opinions and concerns, but it's mostly personal and subjective. You need to try them for yourself.
That said:
110B pros: traditional sound at idle with just a slip on. Some prefer the looks. Motor is more time tested...although problem still can happen. Lots of available mods.
Cons: runs hot. I don't like the feel of the motor with chain driven counterbalancer.
M8 pros: great for all the reasons you listed. Great power and feel. Gear driven counterbalancer feels better to me...better character vibes personally. Runs cooler.
Cons: possible issues with new motor, although most seem fine. Traditional sound requires more mods, idle no longer is traditional feeling/sounding, but riding is imo. Gear driven counterbalancer whine is audible at idle and low speeds. aftermarket just getting started.

I have a 2017 Breakout that I did a 107 stage 5 kit in, love the bike and would not part with it. Also dumped another $2500 in suspension work, it is probably close to as good as the new Softails ride and handle, for allot more money. Had I known what was coming for 2018, I probably would have waited, but I would not have bought the Breakout unless I knew I could change the tank, and put the turbine wheels on it. The new wheels aren't that that bad, the turbines are just better, the tank is a deal breaker. Probably would have bought the Fat Bob, maybe a Fat Boy.

Big breakout fan.
I thought for sure I would be buying that CVO pro when it came out.
Then I rode one.
Nope. Way too cramped, horrible stock shifter and break position. Constant shifting wrong. Salesman said the same things when he rode it.
It lacks the 21 wheel too. Just a big bummer. Would go for a used standard breakout and do it up my own way if I was going to make a move.
The new ones with the small tank just turn me off. For the money, I say used older one, with the ability to do pipes and cam and all the good stuff.

Too bad my dealer took me around the block where I couldn't open up the speeds more than 50mph.
They were not willing for longer test rides for me to compare hence I posted to see if there is an owner who traded their '18 prior FXSB to get a 2018

Well I have ridden several 2018s extensively, around town and highway and as I stated, I have a 2017 Breakout that I have aprox, 32k into the bike to get it to perform and handle similar to a 2018 Breakout. My bike is way better looking IMO, but If you are happy with the way the 2018 looks, for the love of God buy it and save yourself a buttload of cash. Spend some of it on some loud pipes and a good programmer though.

I have a 2017 pro and I love it. I have also ridden the 2017 street glide with the M8 107, 2018 Fat Bob 114, and 2018 Breakout 114. The M8 is a smoother motor I'll give it that, as for power it's really close. I can't speak for heat as I only rode the demo bikes about 20 miles each. The Pro-street has some options that are not on the 2018 breakout like cruise control, dual front disks, larger tank, better paint quality, the frame is also paint matched, heavy breather intake, lower scoop, it comes with a special CVO cover, and a better seat IMO. The Pro-street is a 2 year special CVO model so it doesn't have a ton of accessories out for it specifically but it is just a breakout underneath so most things that fit a breakout will fit it also. If you like chrome then a regular breakout is more appealing but if you like the blacked out look then the pro-street is the one for you.

I was considering the ‘17 Breakout and, on this forum, learned about how to improve the suspension and other mods. I had everything booked marked and tallied. Then the dealer advised me that there was a very near announcement of new bikes and I might want to wait for that. If there was nothing that changed my mind, I could still get the ‘17.
A couple of weeks later the new bikes were announced. My mind wasn’t immediately changed. The tank-thing was in my head as not good. But when the first new Breakout came off the truck, and with everything I’d read about the improvements during the interim, the new bike looked great in person and I got it. The tank thing is a nothing burger. I don’t tour on a Breakout. I plan for 120 miles between stops and that leaves a comfortable reserve... about a gallon if I’m not riding aggressively. Less if I am. And mostly I’m not going that far and I always gas up before I put it away.
Some say they don’t like the look of the tank. I do. It’s old school. And it does show more of the heads. Now I think a big fat tank would look funny. Anyway, I bought it for me, so that’s all that matters.
Every time I’m leaned into a turn and hit a pot hole or dip, I’m happy I got this bike. It isn’t phased. The stock suspension delivers. My old ‘03 Softail would deliver a shot of adrenaline.
Having said that, this forum has clearly documented exactly how to mod the suspension of the older bike so it handles great. I’d plan on that. (and did) And there’s a ton more advice on the Breakout to help make the older model a dream machine. So either way, you’re in the right place.

DanBO18 that's a gorgeous bike. Shrini23 can't give you an educated opinion on the 2 breakouts other than I am biased towards the 2018's. They may not look as good to some people but that's subjective and when I'm around the bike hopefully I'm riding it and the new ones don't need much help in that department.
