Default Installed New Samson Exhaust - Have a few Concerns

So over the weekend I installed a Samson true dual 33" fishtail exhaust on my 05 Deluxe. I first want to say they look totally bad *** and sound awesome !! It took me a little longer than I expected to do the install, but overall it wasn't to bad. It took me about 4 hours but I took my time use painters tape on all the chrome to avoid scratches.

So, after I got everything buttoned up, I fired the bike up. Sound was absolutely incredible, but the head pipe that comes from the rear jug and runs across the primary got extremely hot, really fast. I'm concerned that this kind of heat next to my leg is going to be a problem, also is this going to be to much heat on the coil and oil tank ? Anyone of you Samson guys burn your leg ?

I took off a set of V&H wide radius short shots and the bike was tuned by the dealership for stage 1. Do I need a new tune to go along with these pipes ? They do not have a baffle or muffler, just like the short shots.....

Yes, the heat shields are attached. The pipes are beautiful, almost a work of art, but damn they are hot !

Been running mine quite awhile, never burned. Did you put torque cones in with yours? I did air filter, no cones, SERT and had it dyno'd 3 times. Best they could get me to was 64 horsies. I still love them, nice pipes.

Yeah you better get used to having the same spot on your left calf burned over and over again unless you have a long inseam. Form should always follow function

I installed V&H softail duals on my '15 slim an it got pretty warm on the left thigh so I removed the heat shield an wrapped that section of the pipe with exhaust wrap an secured it with safety wire an put the heat shield back on. I can still feel it a little but it's no big deal now.

Never had an issue with mine I mean they do get hot but not the way your describing yours. I to have the 33 inch on mine with the Power Vision from Fuel Moto.So far never burnt my leg either.

Tuned for stage 1 ... did they just put on the canned tune or did they "tune" it properly for open pipes? You might be running too lean an thus pipes get very hot.

Had the V&H Duals on my Xbones in the tropics and never experienced heat coming of the left pipe as you describe it.
