Default Custom Baffle question/opinions

Have a spare set of gutted stock mufflers. Have Thunder Torque Inserts at the ends...

Looking for a deeper tone. Wouldn’t mind a tiny bit quieter.

What style of baffle/diffuser will make the right kind of difference? A tube with holes or louvers inside the pipe?

Or am I just limited by the size/shape of the muffler itself for creating a deeper tone.

I know every manufacturer has their guarded secrets, just wondering what the basic thinking on sound modulation is amongst you guys...besides just buying a decent set of pipes

Just messing with a home project for my own amusement and thought maybe you guys had a siuggestion.

Yeah I have Big Shot Staggereds on my Dyna and they are great. I have the TTIs in the stock mufflers I’m messing with and they certainly help, but hoping to enhance the tone. Thinking it’s still just too wide open and needs something to give all that airflow some deeper tone. Pipe diameter is 3 1/4”. Wondering what contributes most to “deeper” sounds besides wider/longer pipes?

There is an eye in the middle of the pipe now, may be that does something to the frequencies in the pipe.

I installed v&h quiet baffles on my fishtails and it sounds deeper in high rpm. Not that quite tbh

I would go with Big City Thunder QQ baffles. I've got stock pipes as modified by American Custom Exhaust and they're pretty wide open and loud. I'm looking at adding the QQ baffles to it. They provide a little more backpressure and should quiet it down just a bit while keeping the deep rumble I like. The QQ's for my setup (16 Heritage with a stock header) install in the headpipes. Check them out. I had their standard baffles in a Yammie Road Star in '07-'09 in a pair of straight pipes (Bub Big *******) and they were awesome sounding and the backpressure was perfect.
