Default 07 Heritage Lowering forks for my daughter

My 19 year old has been doing great w the *** end lowered on the heritage.. However, she is wearing logger boots to help reach the ground (she is 5'1" tall).. I'd like to lower the forks w Progressive as my option, so my question is/are.?
~ Do the FL forks need to come off to use the lower kit? .. I poked around on youtube w conflicting responses.
~ I do not plan on changing the seat, bike looks great as is, the rear looks lowered, appears lowered in the rear, is there a way to tell? bought bike used.
~ I can not think of any other option, but if you have a suggestion I'll take it.

Don't use the Harley kit.
I had it on mine. My wife's 03
still has it. They ride horrible.
Light pressure on the frt brake
and it will bottom out. Use Progressive
or some good brand

Drop in fork springs you don't have to disassemble the fork tubes, Progressive Monotubes yes you have to, https://www.progressivesuspension.com/ will give you more info. Ride safe.

I lowered the front of my 2002 Heritage 2.5" with the Progressive drop in kit and have zero complaints. The kits says it's adjustable to 2.0". I started out at 1.5" drop, then pulled it apart and recut the spacers to get to 2.0" and it did fine but I wanted alittle more. So I yanked it apart again and took a chance. I cut the spacers to achieve a 2.5" drop and it's perfect for me and what I wanted. I don't think I would go any more though only because I'm obviously beyond the "kit range". I've never bottomed out in 15k+ miles of riding since I lowered it.

I do run a 21" front wheel on mine and I also lowered the rear 2.0" at the same time I was dicking around with the front.

Thanks for the responses .. drop in kit sounds like the ticket. Unless someone speaks up and says "don't do it".
