Default The Dull Boy - '98 Softail build

Here's a few pictures of my little "All work and no beer makes Jack a dull boy" Softail project.

It started out as a '98 FXSTC imported from the US (SC) earlier this year. I'm a Swede living in Norway by the way.

Stock 1340 with a S&S Super E and K&N air cleaner. I'm going to swap the stock cam with an Andrews EV27. Cycle Shack drag pipes.

Modifications so far:
  • Road King rear wheel. 16x5 with a 180 wide tire.
  • Rear pulley machined down to work with a 20mm belt.
  • Road King front wheel. 17x3 with a 130 and dual brake rotors.
  • Lower legs and dual calipers from newer touring models.
  • Modified rear fender and tank console.
Things left to do:
  • Paint front wheel and various bits and pieces. As you may see I'm no big fan of chrome...
  • I've made a custom seat and left it to an upholsterer a week ago. Picking it up early January.
  • Wrap the drag pipes.
  • Finish up the wiring.
  • Fabricate a headlight mount.

Pics in no specific order...

Ha ha. Yeah, the theme of the bike is more about the actual proverb than the movie, but I had to get this key chain nonetheless.

Mostly done now. Will be taking some better pictures when I've finished up the last bits and pieces. Hopefully this weekend. About time to clean the garage and begin on the next project.
